- Graduate S.P.S., Toronto, 1902

- Worked with Topographic Surveys Branch, Ottawa
- Surveys in BC under J.E. Ross, DLS in 1903
- Assistant to P.R. Belanger DLS, District of Assiniboia, 1904
- Surveyed for Grand Trunk Railway in 1904
- 1908 – 1913 worked on contract in Western Canada doing Township surveys
- Worked in Lloydminster with Field Husbandry Association. He was also a well known farmer in the area and grower of prize seed grains.

- Died on January 5, 1929 of pneumonia following influenza.
- A lake in Manitoba, at latitude 58 degrees 19 minutes, longitude 93degrees, 44 minutes, has been named after him.
