Scholarships
The following awards and scholarships are provided by the Saskatchewan Land Surveyors' Association.
SLSA Charitable Fund Scholarship
Upon the occasion of its centennial, the Saskatchewan Land Surveyors Association (SLSA) established a charitable fund at the Saskatoon Community Foundation to provide support for qualified donees who are investing in the betterment of life in the Province of Saskatchewan or to assist students in pursuing post-secondary education in land-surveying. This fund is a permanent endowment that will fund one or more annual grants to deserving applicants.
Value: varies, based on eligible candidates (typically $1,500 or more)
Conditions:
Applicant must be a resident of Saskatchewan enrolled in a geomatics program at any any accredited post-secondary institution that meets the requirements for disbursement by a charitable foundation (see 4.1 and 4.2, below).
All applications must be in writing
Deadline for applications is July 15, annually.
Applications should include, and will be rated on the basis of:
Education - Including high school graduating average, marks from survey-related technical or university courses, and current enrollment status
A brief explanation of why the applicant would like to become a Saskatchewan Land Surveyor, including but not limited to:
Financial need
Biographical Information
Volunteer work
Hobbies and interests
Terms:
The student award shall be paid by Saskatoon Community Foundation to a registered, not-for-profit educational institution considered a “qualified donee” by the Canada Revenue Agency.
The recipient shall present to Saskatoon Community Foundation verification of registration/confirmation of enrollment in a program in any one of the following types of schools:
An accredited university or college; or
A publicly funded vocational and/or technical institution.

The following awards and scholarships are provided by other organizations:
Canadian Right of Way Educational Foundation High School Scholarship
Offered to a high school student entering any of the various fields impacting the Right of Way profession, including (but not limited to) law, surveying, engineering, planning, real property appraisal, public administration or environmental studies
Value: $2,500
SLSA I. W. Tweddell Memorial Award
In memory of I. W. (Ian) Tweddell, Saskatchewan Land Surveyor (SLS), Dominion Land Surveyor (DLS) and Alberta Land Surveyor (ALS). Mr. Tweddell was an avid land surveyor and a scholar. Value: $1,250
Conditions:
Applicant must be an active “Student Land Surveyor” of the Saskatchewan Land Surveyors Association who is enrolled in any program that will, upon completion, result in the candidate receiving a Certificate of Completion from The Canadian Board of Examiners for Professional Surveyors (CBEPS).

SLSA Scholarship
The Saskatchewan Land Surveyors Association (SLSA) established the scholarship to provide further support for qualified applicants in pursuing post-secondary education in land-surveying, with funding for up to three (3) awards to deserving applicants.
Value: minimum of $1,250 each, to a maximum of three (3) eligible applicants
Conditions:
Applicant must be a resident of Saskatchewan enrolled in a geomatics program at any post-secondary school
All applications must be in writing
Deadline for applications is July 15 of year in which the scholarship is awarded.
Applications should include, and will be rated on the basis of:
Education - Including high school graduating average, marks from survey-related technical or university courses, and current enrollment status
A brief explanation of why the applicant would like to become a Saskatchewan Land Surveyor, including but not limited to:
Financial need

Terms:
Applicants previously granted the award may not be eligible for a second award.
